CNNs, RNNs, transformers. PyTorch became the research standard and the playground.

2021 - Machine learning foundations

Python's ML ecosystem: data wrangling, classical models, and first neural networks.

2020 - Cross-platform mobile

Flutter brought Dart and pixel-perfect UIs to both iOS and Android from one codebase.

2019 - Data layer mastery

Went deep on databases, relational and document stores, query optimisation, and ORMs.

2018 - React takes the frontend

Facebook's React had become the dominant UI library. Components, hooks, and virtual DOM.

2017 - JavaScript goes server-side

Node.js was exploding in adoption. Full-stack JS became possible for the first time.

2016 - Rails convention over configuration

Ruby on Rails was still the go-to for rapid web app development. Learned MVC at its best.

2015 - Python enters the stack

Discovered Python's clean syntax and broad ecosystem for scripting and automation.

2014 - First lines of code

Jumped in with PHP, the backbone of most of the web at the time.
